Our Mission...
The Minnesota Energy Code Support Program provides training for local building inspectors and the larger construction community to ensure consistency in implementation and compliance with the state and locally adopted energy conservation and construction codes.
Our programming covers the latest energy codes and standards, including the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and ASHRAE standards; and builds on the best practices and experience of our community partners and subject matter experts.
We support builders, architects, engineers, and contractors to help them achieve energy-efficient buildings and reduce energy costs. We provide virtual an in-person training to local building department staff to support code compliance.
Energy Conservation & Efficiency Codes
Our program also covers the state's construction codes and standards, including the Minnesota State Building Code, Residential Code, and Energy Code for new and existing structures
We provide training on building envelope, mechanical systems, lighting, and renewable energy systems to help builders and designers comply with the codes and achieve high-performance buildings.
Training Programs
We offer customized training programs for building officials, design professionals, builders, and code enforcement personnel. Our training programs are designed to meet the needs of each group and cover a wide range of topics, from basic code requirements to advanced energy-efficient design strategies. We also offer online training courses for those who cannot attend our in-person training sessions.

Minnesota Energy Code Support Program is a statewide collaborative program that provides training and support for the implementation and enforcement of the state's energy conservation and construction codes. Our program is administered by our training partners at Shums Coda Associates and is designed to help builders, designers, and code officials improve code compliance and achieve energy-efficient buildings.
